Latest News

It all seems to have been a little quiet recently, but that doesn't mean we have not all been busy beavering away behind the scenes and we have lots of activities planned for the next few months.

Regional Day was hosted by Bolton Branch in the splendid surroundings of Haigh Hall

Julia Triston was the afternoon speaker and everyone enjoyed her lively talk about her inspiration and work. We look forward to welcoming Julia to Blackpool for our Anniversary Celebrations in October when she will be our after (or pre) dinner speaker.

With the usual array of traders there were of course numerous shopping opportunities along with the exhibitions.

Stitch night on Monday saw many of us working on individual projects, and discussing entries for the Capability Brown Exhibition.

The venue has moved - yes again! and we are now at Gawthorpe Hall - more details later.

In the meantime all projects for entry should be completed in time for our Strawberry Tea in July - which is not too far away!

Last year I made several bags for the Sew Powerful Project in Zambia, and I passed on details to members on Monday night if anyone would like to join in with this years purse making project.

The free pattern and instructions can be downloaded from the website  www.sewpowerful.org
There will be a few printed copies of the pattern available at the next meeting.
