Experimental Weaving

Our first workshop of the year!

Ann guided us through the process of experimental weaving and we couldn't wait to get going and work our way through all the threads and fibres

This proved to be a very relaxing occupation and kept us all very quiet and concentrating on the  work in hand

Being an experimental technique we were able to use anything ad everything in our creations including money for the money tree!

New Year

It is hard to believe that January has passed us by already. With no meetings since just before Christmas, it was great to get together for our first stitch night of the New Year. Not much stitching was done as we were all busy catching up with all our news.

We made as start thinking about our jade squares for our 35th Anniversary celebrations later in the year.  Lots of inspiration on show including our contribution to the previous rainbow squares project.
Here are a few more images to give you some colour inspiration - the  theme is Lines so it leaves it open to a variety of techniques and ideas:

The Capability Brown exhibition details are gradually coming together and we are looking forward to exhibiting at Samlesbury Hall later in the year with our neighbouring branches.

Space will be available for  wall hanging or 3D pieces so the possibilities are endless
